overview

Dabblr is a responsive web-app connecting hobbyists with industry experts to get real-time advice on their DIY projects. While prioritizing real-time features, the app seeks to meet hobbyists where they are by offering multiple modalities for accessing advice including tutorial content, text messaging, and video chat. In doing so, the app responds to diverse learning preferences, varying degrees of urgency, and a tendency towards frugality among the target demographic.

purpose & context

This is a personal project I developed for my studies through CareerFoundry to demonstrate my abilities in UX research methodologies, iterative design process, and design systems documentation.

objective

The aim of this project was to build a high-fidelity prototype for a responsive web app to add to my professional portfolio. While a basic brief was provided outlining required features for an advice app, I was interested in exploring the nuances of adapting the idea for specific audience.

I envisioned Dabblr as a way for DIY enthusiasts to bridge the knowledge gap between their personal skills and their project aspirations as they attempt to fit creative hobbies into their busy lives.
